Thursday, 22 June 2023, the Undip Faculty of Engineering in collaboration with Level 7 Indonesia successfully held the Undip Career Days 2023 job fair for the second time. The event was held on June 21-22 at the Imam Bardjo, S.H. Auditorium. This program succeeded in attracting thousands of job seekers who not only came from the Faculty of Engineering, but also from outside the Faculty of Engineering Undip as well.
The Engineering Career Center, a special unit under the Undip Faculty of Engineering which focuses on career path preparation for students graduating from the Faculty of Engineering, is again holding a job fair event in response to the high enthusiasm of the participants and companies who took part in the previous Undip Career Days event. At this job fair, dozens of national and international companies participated to provide job opportunities for participants from various backgrounds.
Dr. Ir. Abdul Syakur, S.T., M.T., IPU, Deputy Dean for Resources, Faculty of Engineering, revealed that at this Undip Career Days, a total of 35 companies and state-owned companies participated in this job fair. He hopes that there will be more visitors in this period than in the previous period. “We ourselves are targeting the number of visitors to be more than 2,000 visitors. “Hopefully it can meet our targets,” he said.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D., welcomed this job fair. According to him, this job fair is in accordance with the needs of the Faculty of Engineering to provide job opportunities for its graduates. With this job fair, he hopes that the companies present will be willing to provide input regarding what the industry currently needs. “There are almost two thousand students who graduate every year at the Faculty of Engineering. “We personally ask for your help if you have input regarding current industry needs,” he said.
In the second period of Undip Career Days 2023, the number of visitors who came reached more than 2,300 job applicants. This shows a significant increase compared to the previous period. Prof. Agung hopes that with this job fair, more Undip Faculty of Engineering graduates will be able to find work immediately. This is in line with Undip’s quality as a first-ranked university with the best employment rate for its graduates (employability ranking). “Undip has been the university with number one employability in Indonesia for two years in a row. Hopefully this job fair event can maintain this.”
